The RCIPS Financial Crime Investigation Unit has commenced investigations based on complaints received of fraudulent activity reported across social media platforms where is it is alleged that a person has taken payment for shutter and screen installation works never completed.
Over the course of this week, beginning Monday, 18 January, RCIPS uniform and traffic officers have been conducting traffic operations in Bodden Town, East End and North Side, in response to community concerns about speeding and unsafe driving practices in the Eastern Districts.

Just before 10PM yesterday, 19 January, police were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a report of a robbery that took place along Town Hall Road, in West Bay.
On January 15, 2021, the RCIPS received an allegation of misuse of ICT in relation to a suggestive video which had been posted on social media. Officers investigated the matter and spoke to the suspect, who was warned about his conduct, in accordance with the wishes of the complainant. The matter is now closed.
Shortly after 4:20AM on Saturday, 16 January, officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on South Sound Road, in the vicinity of Anne Bonny Crescent, where a black Honda Fit had collided with a tree and a utility pole.
A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a single-vehicle collision on Condor Road, Bodden Town on Sunday evening, 18 January, where the car involved caught fire as a result of the collision.
Today, Friday, 15 January, the RCIPS is requesting public assistance in identifying and locating a man who is currently wanted on suspicion of Assault GBH, in relation to an incident which took place at a service station on Shamrock Road in 2020.
