Shortly after 11:30AM today, 25 January, emergency services were dispatched to a report that a unresponsive man in the water off Don Fosters Dive Cayman. A Coast Guard vessel was able to locate the man and transport him to shore. He was then transported by ambulance to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
On Monday, 16 January, officers responded to a report of a theft at an address on Bodden Town Road. It was reported that 100lbs of fish was stolen from a container at the rear of the premises.
Shortly after 4:15PM yesterday, 18 January, officers responded to a report of a four-vehicle collision which occurred on Sea View Road in East End. Two occupants of one of the vehicles involved were transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment and have since been discharged.
In order to facilitate the National Heroes Day Celebrations which are taking place on Monday, 23 January, the following road closures will be in place from Friday, 20 January at 9:00PM to Monday, 23 January, at 3:00PM. The roads will be temporarily reopened from 12:00AM to 12:00PM on Saturday, 21 January.
15-year-old Brianna Elizabeth Ebanks, who was reported missing on Friday, 13 January, has been located and returned home. She appears to be in good health. The RCIPS thanks the public for their assistance in locating her.
The man, age 19 of Bodden Town, who was arrested on Thursday, 12 January in relation to an incident where a police officer was assaulted whilst off duty, has now been formally charged with Assault ABH, Assaulting Police, and Theft.
On Saturday, 7 January, a man age 41 of Bodden Town, who was wanted in relation to theft offenses and outstanding warrants, was arrested after attempting to evade police. He was further arrested on drug offenses, after quantities of suspected drugs were found on his person.
During the month of December, 2022, the RCIPS conducted operation Winter Guardian to provide support for the social and economic changes that come with the holiday period annually.
This morning, 9 January, police arrested 21-year-old Corrie Andrew Myles, who was recently circulated as wanted in relation to firearms offences. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
