Police identify the man found on the coast of Safe Haven as missing man Channing Williams. RCIPS offers condolences to the family of the deceased, and the investigations into his death continue.
Police can confirm the identity of the deceased involved in the fatal collision involving a vehicle that collided with a cyclist, that occurred just before 6AM, yesterday morning, Monday 21 April. He is Per Undheim, a 39-year-old Norwegian national, who resides in Savannah.
On Monday morning, 21 April, Channing Junior Williams, age 39 of George Town, was reported missing to police. Mr. Williams had last been seen by family members early in the afternoon on Sunday, 20 April, but was reported to have travelled on a boat with friends to Starfish Point later that afternoon.
Police encourage the public to be safe on our roads, while at home and while camping in the Cayman Islands over the Easter Holidays.
On Friday, 11 April, officers arrested a man, age 28 of East End, on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery, in relation to a high value commercial robbery which took place on 18 November, 2024, on Eastern Avenue. The man has been granted bail as investigations continue.
Just after 6:00AM yesterday 12 April, officers responded to a report of an unresponsive male found at an address on Farm Road in East End. Officers and EMS attended the location, and the male was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital by ambulance, where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.
Shortly after 1:50PM yesterday, 11 April, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched officers to a report of an armed robbery at a construction site on Adonis Drive in West Bay. It was reported that two men, one carrying a firearm, had robbed a man at the site of a significant quantity of cash.
At about 3:30PM yesterday 11 April, officers were dispatched to a report of a person in distress at a dock on Raleigh Quay, West Bay. A man had been transported back to shore after encountering difficulties while swimming from a boat in the North Sound. He was subsequently pronounced deceased.
