A man was pronounced dead on Wednesday, 28 November, after having lost consciousness while out on a snorkel trip in the North Sound and subsequently transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital. He was an 80-year-old visitor from the US.
This was the second medevac from Little Cayman within 48 hours, as the Air Operations Unit also transferred another woman around 5:45PM Tuesday, 27 November, who had been diving and appeared to have decompression issues.
The public is advised that there will be a funeral procession on Saturday, 1 December, starting from Elmslie Memorial United Church on Harbour Drive and travelling via South Sound Road and Shamrock Road to the Spotts Cemetery. The procession is expected to take place between 3:45PM and 4:30PM.

Just before 11AM, yesterday 27 November, police had cause to enter a residence on Brushy Avenue, George Town, to conduct a search under the Misuse of Drugs Law. During the search officers recovered a quantity of ganja as well as utensils and a sum of cash.
Yesterday police received a report of a missing teenage girl, Motesha Mothen, age 15 of West Bay. We were informed that she left home last Friday, 23 November, and has not returned home or been located since.
Shortly after 12:00AM on Monday, 26 November, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the vicinity of Birch Tree Hill Road, West Bay.
On Sunday, 25 November, the RCIPS facilitated a motorbiking event, Ride Out Cayman, which consisted of a procession around Grand Cayman and a closed road skills session for off-road bikes.
The Intertrust Cayman Islands Marathon will be taking place on Sunday, 2 December, from 5:00AM to 11:30AM. There will be several road closures along its route.
