Serious Collision on Queens Highway, 31 December

31st December, 2019

Shortly before 1:00AM on Monday, 30 December, officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on the Queens Highway in East End. Thr sole occupant of the vehicle was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. He remains in critical but stable condition.

Fatal Single-Vehicle Collision on East West Arterial, 30 December

30th December, 2019

Shortly after 1:00AM today, 30 December, officers responded to a report of a serious single-vehicle collision on the East West Arterial, at the intersection with Doubletree Lane. The sole occupant of the vehicle, a man age 26 of Bodden Town, was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead.

The RCIPS Holiday Safety Campaign is ongoing this week, as the intensified road enforcement operations which began at the beginning of the month continue. CPD officers have also been conducting evening foot patrols this week in main commercial areas around the island to increase visibility and reassurance to the public.

Robbery in George Town, 23 December

23rd December, 2019

On Thursday night, 19 December, officers responded to a report of a robbery at an address off Spruce Lane in George Town where two men were robbed by a man who had brandished a handgun. No shots were fired and neither of the victims were injured. The matter is currently under investigation.
