The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) is aware of the strong public reaction following the assault incident on Rex Crighton Blvd on 19 February. We understand the concerns raised within the community and the ongoing discussions online.
The RCIPS is extending its thanks to members of the public who assisted us in our road safety efforts on two particular instances this past weekend, by reporting persons who appeared to be driving under the influence.

The RCIPS Cyber Crime Unit have received reports of a scam currently circulating in our communities, whereby a number of individuals have received an email threatening disclosure of personal information in exchange for money paid to the scammer.
The technical issue that affected the ability of the RCIPS Business Centre to complete processes required to produce police clearance certificates has now been resolved.
Following an incident of arson on 31 July 2023 that left the North Side Police Station out of commission, refurbishments are now underway as of 1 July, 2024.
Police are informing persons who parked their vehicles on roadways to immediately remove them.
