The man, age 24 of Bodden Town, who was arrested in relation to a serious sexual assault in George Town, has been formally charged with Aggravated Burglary, Wrongful Confinement, Indecent Assault, and three counts of Rape, in relation to the same incident.
On Saturday, 26 November, wanted man Mitchum Wood was located and arrested by police officers, during an operation in North Side. He has since been charged in relation to a burglary earlier that day. Another man, age 21 of North Side, was also arrested on suspicion of robbery.
Just after 9:25PM on Friday, 25 November, police officers who were on patrol in the Prospect area were stopped by a member of the public at a restaurant located in the area, who informed them of an attempted robbery at the location.
Police are investigating a number of incidents of thefts from vehicles in recent weeks, and have arrested persons in connection with two such incidents. Police are issuing a reminder to the public about preventing such thefts, and advise against purchasing goods which may be stolen.
A man, age 38 of George Town, was formally charged on 16 November with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm. The charge stems from a video that was posted on social media earlier this year, where the man was seen holding a shotgun. Investigations determined that the man is not a licensed firearms holder.
Officers have recovered a yellow kayak which was found by a member of the public at a location on Bodden Town Road on Monday, 21 November. The RCIPS is inviting the owner of the kayak to contact the Bodden Town Police Station at 947-2220 to arrange for collection, and to be prepared to provide evidence of ownership.
On Sunday, 20 November, a second man, age 53 of Bodden Town, was arrested on suspicion of Murder in relation to the fatal stabbing of George Ian Duffell, which occurred in West Bay on 14 October.
Three RCIPS women in leadership positions travelled to the UK to attend the Women in Policing Conference in London. The annual conference seeks to provide current and future female leaders in the field of policing with the skills needed to achieve success in their unique positions within the traditionally male-dominated field.
The RCIPS is currently investigating a report of illegal dumping in the Newlands area by an individual driving a white Nissan pickup truck. The person responsible will be prosecuted for illegal dumping, in conjunction with the Department of Environmental Health. The public is advised to refrain from illegal dumping.
