A man, age 19 of West Bay, has been formally charged with Burglary in relation to an incident on 22 August where a residence in West Bay was broken into. He has also been charged with Handling Stolen Goods. He appeared in court this morning, 28 September.
The RCIPS is aware of a motoring event this Sunday,at the Old Breakers Speedway in Bodden Town. We are reminding anyone who plans on attending the event that all participating vehicles not licensed for normal road use must be transported to and from the event using trailers. It is illegal to use such vehicles on public roads.
Early Wednesday morning, 26 September, the RCIPS Air Operations Unit received a request from the Faith Hospital in Cayman Brac to medically evacuate a premature baby. The police helicopter crew answered the emergency callout and transported the baby to the Cayman Islands Hospital in Grand Cayman where he is currently doing well.
Since June, the RCIPS has received a number of reports of attempted scams conducted using LinkedIn. These scams generally involve an account impersonating a public figure which initiates communication and eventually attempts to obtain sensitive information such as banking details, or to seek money directly.
The suspect in this matter, a 33 year-old-man from West Bay, has been formally charged with Assault ABH. He appeared in court on Wednesday, 26 September and was bailed with conditions.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding, following an incident on Sunday, 23 September, outside a bar on Shedden Road. He has been formally charged and appears in court today, 25 September.
Shortly before 9:00AM on Monday, 24 September, officers in Cayman Brac responded to a report of a burglary which was discovered earlier that morning at an office belonging to the Department of Environment. The outside door to the office was breached, and spear gun parts along with three spear guns were stolen.
Two women have been arrested in connection with this incident, where a man was assaulted during an altercation outside of a North Side Bar.
Police were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a report of a robbery at a Liquor store located in the West Bay Road area.
