A man, age 27 of George Town, has been formally charged with Robbery, Aggravated Burglary, and Possession and Consumption of Ganja, in relation to an armed robbery on Seafarers Way. A second man, age 36 of George Town, has been formally charged with Possession and Consumption of Ganja.
Police are investigating a number of incidents of thefts from vehicles, where construction tools have become a common item targeted.
Police can now confirm the identity of the deceased in the fatal collision which took place on Tuesday, 28 March, on Frank Sound Road. He is 23-year-old Daniel Ernest McFarlane, of East End.
Just before 1:30AM on Monday, 27 March, police were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of suspicious activity at the Countryside Shopping Village in Savannah, Bodden Town. t was reported that men dressed in dark clothing appeared to be attempting to tamper with and gain access to the contents of an ATM.
Police are investigating a number of incidents of thefts from vehicles that have occurred in recent weeks. Items commonly stolen in these cases have included construction tools, electronics and money.
15-year-old Jahsmine Ebanks and 15 year-old Shania Beckford, who were reported missing on Friday night, 17 March, have been located and returned safely. Both appear to be in good health. The RCIPS thanks the public for their assistance in locating them.
The RCIPS and Cayman Islands Coast Guard are taking this opportunity to remind boat owners and operators to always be mindful of proper safety when operating a vessel, and to not operate a vessel while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, following an incident of a boat in distress in Little Cayman.
Around 11.30AM, on Friday 17 March, police received a report of a robbery in the vicinity of the cement factory on Seymour Road, George Town.
A man, age 29 of George Town, was arrested on Friday, 17 March, on suspicion of robbery, in relation to the incident which had taken place at a business on Eastern Avenue early the same morning. He has been granted police bail pending further investigation.
In the past, the RCIPS has responded to and investigated reports of stolen boats and other marine vessels. Such incidents have involved vessels moored in water, as well as cases where boats have been stolen while on a trailer. Police are taking this opportunity to remind boat owners to properly secure their vessels.
