Traffic Advisory: Albert Panton Street Road Closure, 1 April

A section of Albert Panton Street, from the Cardinall Avenue intersection to just past the Scotia Building, will be closed tomorrow, 1 April, from 9:00AM, to facilitate set-up for the Night Mas event taking place that evening. Access to properties along Albert Panton Street will remain permitted from Fort Street.

UPDATE: Man Charged in Relation to Seymour Drive Stabbing, 30 March

The man, age 30 of George Town, who was arrested in relation to a serious stabbing incident which took place at the Everglo Bar on 2 January, has now been formally charged with Wounding with Intent. He has been bailed to appear in court on Tuesday, 5 April.

Man Charged for Machete Wounding, 29 March

29th March, 2022

The man, age 37 of George Town, who was arrested on Saturday, 26 March, following an incident where one man was struck by another with a machete, has now been formally charged with one count of Wounding with Intent, two counts of Carrying an Offensive Weapon, and one count of Carrying a Prohibited Weapon.

East End Man Being Investigated for the Illegal Sale of Drug and Alcohol as well as Cockfighting, 29 March

On Sunday, March 27th officers from the Eastern Districts had cause to attend a residence located on John McLean Drive.  On arrival they observed the gathering of a crowd and what appeared to be illegal sale of liquor and illegal animals (fowls) fighting matches.

RCIPS Announces New Eastern Districts Traffic and Roads Policing Unit, 29 March

On Monday 28 March, the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit was officially expanded to include a new unit of seven police officers. The unit is being led by one sergeant, PS Joleta Wolliston, and she will have six constables working alongside her to meet the needs of Road Policing in the Eastern Districts.
