Officers of the RCIPS Firearms Response Unit (FRU) will soon be more easily identifiable in their roles, as the unit introduces new specialist uniforms that will be rolled out this June.
Police have received reports from persons who have attempted to purchase a black Honda Fit, registration #189-455 from a man offering it ‘for sale’. These persons have paid over money as a deposit or full payment but have not received delivery of the car in return.
Shortly after 4:00AM today, 26 May, officers responded to a two-vehicle collision on West Bay Road, which resulted in a single fatality. The driver of one of the vehicles, a man, age 24 of West Bay, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Shortly after 12:30AM today, Sunday, 29 May, officers responded to a report of a stabbing incident, involving a firearm, at a residence in the Prospect area of George Town. A man age 28 and a woman age 20, both of George Town, were both arrested on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm.
The man, age 54 of George Town, who was arrested following a search operation on Tuesday, 24 May, where a firearm and ammunition were recovered, has been formally charged with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm (Ammunition). He appears in court this morning, 27 May.
The RCIPS is advising the public that the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and RCIPS Family Support Unit (FSU) will be operating out of a new location on the second floor of Crown Square Plaza, Eastern Avenue, beginning on Monday, 30 May. FSU/MASH will remain at the current location through Friday, 27 May.

Just after 10:20PM yesterday, 22 May, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a report of a motor vehicle collision that took place on Shamrock Road in the vicinity of Spotts Newlands Road, Bodden Town.
