The RCIPS is advising the public of the following road closure that will take place tomorrow morning, Monday 4 October, to facilitate traffic safety for the general public and demonstration participants, and ensure unobstructed access to Parliament Officials.
New Regulations recently released by the Government in response to COVID-19 community transmission cases, impact the way the public can congregate including; public gatherings and socialising in bars and restaurants.
As a precautionary measure, the RCIPS will now be requiring members of the public who will be attending our police stations and public facing offices to wear masks when entering and while inside our facilities.
The West Bay Police Station has now returned to 242 West Church Street and is operating as normal.
On Sunday 1 August, at around 10.45am a report was received by the 911 Centre of something falling from the sky out over the horizon in line of sight from the Westin Hotel and dark smoke being seen right after, it was suggested by the caller that it might have been a small plane.
On Friday 28 May, the RCIPS launched Operation Quaker in response to a trend of road fatalities and other serious collisions which have occurred in recent times.
Just before 9:40PM on Monday, 31 May, officers from the RCIPS, Cayman Islands Coast Guard, Cayman Islands Fire Service, the RCIPS Air Operations Unit and EMS responded to a report of a collision involving a fishing vessel and a sailboat in the Governor’s Harbour area off Magellan Quay, West Bay.
Beginning this weekend, 28-30 May, the RCIPS will be conducting a targeted road safety and enforcement campaign. Operation Quakers, will focus on curbing reckless and dangerous driving behaviours over the weekends when the worst incidents have been occurring.
Today, 12 May, the RCIPS released its 2020 Crime and Traffic Statistics, and the Senior Command Team held a press conference to discuss the main developments and trends described in the statistics with the media.
