On Wednesday morning, 27 September, officers responded to a report of a burglary at a restaurant on Reverend Blackman Road, West Bay. It was reported that earlier that morning two persons had broken into the bar area of the restaurant and taken a quantity of items. Both men have now been formally charged with Burglary.
Shortly after midnight this morning, 28 September, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at a restaurant in the Marquee Plaza on Lawrence Boulevard.
On Tuesday 1 August, RCIPS received a report of possible credit card fraud relating to a customer using multiple aliases to make purchases through a local food ordering app.
Police are seeing an increase in the numbers of reports of vehicle windows being smashed and items stolen. Commonly stolen items include tools, jewelry, electronics and money.
The man, age 42 of George Town, has since been formally charged with two counts of Burglary in relation to two separate incidents in George Town, after being arrested by police officers on patrol in West Bay.
Officers on patrol in George Town had cause to attend and search a property on Liberty Lane, after observing men behaving suspiciously in the area. A handgun, assault rifle, ammunition, and a large quantity of ganja were recovered as a result.
