Shortly before 6:00PM this evening, 31 August, officers responded to a report of a four-vehicle collision with injuries on Frank Sound Road, North Side.
RCIPS reminds the public that the National Gun Amnesty has been extended for a further 10 days and have provided an update on hand ins so far. The public encouraged to hand in illegal guns before the deadline.
As the RCIPS continues in its efforts to encourage persons to relinquish their unlicensed firearms, two more firearms were handed in this past weekend. A pistol and a rifle along with an amount of ammunition were handed into police via a trusted third party, as part of the 2024 RCIPS Gun Amnesty campaign.
Following an incident of arson on 31 July 2023 that left the North Side Police Station out of commission, refurbishments are now underway as of 1 July, 2024.
The RCIPS is launching a National Gun Amnesty, working with key partners and stakeholders who are taking a stand against illegal guns in our community. The Amnesty will run between 1 and 31 July, 2024, and will allow persons who possess illegal guns, ammunition and any other illegal weapons, to hand them over to the police.
The man, age 22 of Bodden Town, who was arrested on 28 May, following an attempted robbery and altercation at an address in North Side, has been formally charged with Attempted Robbery, Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm, and Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm (Ammunition).
As part of the 2024 RCIPS Recruitment Drive, the RCIPS will be hosting a Career Open House in Grand Cayman, at the Compass Centre on Shedden Road on Saturday, 11 May, from 9AM – 1PM.
The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service has launched its 2024 Summer Local Recruitment Campaign, seeking applications from young Caymanians who are interested in joining the RCIPS as Recruit Constables.
The RCIPS has commenced a phased approach towards enhancing policing presence and response time in the districts of North Side and East End. As part of this process, the officers assigned to these districts will be operating out of the East End Police Station.
