Collision Involving Cyclist, 8 May

8th May, 2020

Shortly before 11:30AM today, 8 May, officers responded to a report of a traffic collision at the intersection of Hirst Road and the East West Arterial involving a Jeep and a bicycle. The bicycle had been travelling along the East West Arterial and the Jeep had been travelling north along Hirst Road, when they collided.

Collision in Bodden Town, 23 April

23rd April, 2020

Just before 12:15PM on Wednesday, 22 April, police and emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a collision on Bodden Town Road in the Pease Bay area. The collision involved a dump truck which was travelling westbound towards George Town, and a sedan heading eastbound in the opposite direction.

Man Charged with Breach of Curfew, Assaulting Police and Several Other Offenses, 22 April

22nd April, 2020

A man, age 21 of George Town, was arrested and has subsequently been charged with several offenses following an incident on 16 April when he was observed recklessly riding an illegal motorbike and subsequently resisted arrest and assaulted officers. He appeared in court and was remanded into custody until 30 April.

Update: Man Charged Following Collision with Police Vehicle, 20 April

A man was arrested this evening, 13 April, following an incident where his vehicle collided with a police vehicle. He has been formally charged with DUI, Reckless and Negligent Act, Dangerous Driving, Driving Without Insurance, and Breach of Curfew.

On Wednesday, 15 April, officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Hirst Road in the vicinity of Moonbeam Drive. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital to be treated for what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
