Today, 4 December, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) is delighted to announce that it has received a donation of 22 AED (Automated External Defibrillators) battery packs and 20 CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Kits from the Cayman Heart Fund.
RCIPS’ holiday safety operations commence tomorrow, 4 December, with measures to amplify visible patrols and community support, along with increased road safety education and awareness campaigns supported by intensified road enforcement operations.
The RCIPS has been made aware of incidents where minors between the ages of 11 years and 16 years have been engaging in planned and organised fights at the John Gray High School, which are subsequently being posted on social media.
The RCIPS Community Policing Unit is celebrating the completion of their fundraising car wash campaign, which began in August and concluded last month, and saw the officers donating money from car washes conducted at government primary schools in Grand Cayman, back to the schools.
This Saturday, 15 August, the RCIPS Community Policing Unit began a series of fundraising efforts for Primary Schools across the Cayman Islands, starting with George Town Primary School.
The RCIPS Community Policing Unit delivered the first Crime Prevention Workshop for 2020 to Security Officers at National Security Services Limited last week.
The RCIPS and the Department of Agriculture Animal Control & Welfare Unit continue to promote responsible dog ownership initiatives in an effort to reduce the number of reports received. This continued collaborative effort includes initiatives to remove stray or roaming dogs from the public.
The Cayman Islands Government reusable cloth mask distribution is almost complete. RCIPS Community Police Officers and Community Safety Officers are conducting the final distribution in various communities across Grand Cayman.
The Department of Agriculture’s Animal Welfare Unit along with the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service would like to remind the public that all dog owners must have their animals on a lead  and under control when travelling with them in public.
