Shortly before 9:50PM yesterday, 7 June, officers responded to a report of a robbery at a liquor store on Bodden Town Road, west of Cliff Hill Lane. It was reported that two masked men had entered the store and one of the men brandished a machete at a worker there and demanded cash from the register.
At about 12:30AM on Sunday, 28 May, and again at about 8:20AM on Monday, 29 May, police received reports of shots fired in the vicinity of Bankers Road in West Bay, and a suspicious vehicle was also reported to have been seen in the area in both incidents.
At about 11:50PM on Saturday, 13 May, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched officers to a report of an armed robbery at a food truck on Selkirk Drive.
A 30-year-old-man of George Town who was arrested on Friday 12 May in relation to firearm offence as well as several other traffic related offenses has since been formally charged by the police with six offences.
A man, age 26 of George Town, has been arrested and charged with Possession of an Imitation Firearm with Intent to Commit an Offense. The charge is in relation to an incident which took place on Eastern Avenue in George Town on Saturday, 22 April, where a man brandished a firearm at another man known to him and made threats.
At about 8:45PM on Saturday, 29 April, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at a restaurant on Shamrock Road in the vicinity of Bimini Drive.
A man, age 26 of George Town, was arrested on Tuesday, 18 April, and has been formally charged with Possession of an Imitation Firearm with Intent to Cause Harassment, Alarm or Distress, in relation to an incident on 9 March at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Shedden Road.
Police have arrested 26-year-old Malik Joseph McDonald, who was recently circulated as wanted in relation to firearms offences. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
Today, Friday 14 April, the RCIPS released its 2022 Crime and Traffic Statistics Report, and members of the Senior Command Team held a press conference to discuss the main developments and trends described in the statistics with the media.
