Just after 3:30PM on Wednesday, 29 April, officers from the Community Policing Department, along with Special Constables, were on patrol in the central George Town area when officers approached a man sitting outside a residence. When officers approached the man he ran from the officers, which aroused their suspicion.
Today, 18 April, police conducted an operation in the area of Fairlawn Road, George Town in response to concerns about a public gathering taking place in contravention of the soft curfew order under the new Public Health Regulation. A gathering of several people engaging in cockfighting were seen at the location.
Extensions to hard and soft curfews were announced at the COVID-19 press conference on Thursday, 16 April 2020.
All beaches, including the coastline, will remain closed from 12.01AM tomorrow to 5:00AM Tuesday, 14 April. There is to be no swimming, snorkeling, fishing, exercising or any activity on the beach or along the coastline during these times. (GIS)

The RCIPS is reminding the public that intensified holiday road enforcement operations continue through today, New Year’s Eve, and into New Year’s Day. Police will be conducting numerous traffic checks in addition to intensified vehicle and foot patrols across the island.
The RCIPS is happy to report that over the Christmas period, from Christmas Eve through Boxing Day, there were no major incidents reported. We would like to thank the public for doing their part in following our laws, and helping to keep Cayman safe and peaceful.
