Police Renew Appeal for Witnesses in West Bay Shooting Incident, 7 October

Police continue to appeal for persons who may have witnessed the shooting incident which occurred just before 12:15AM on Saturday, 29 September, in the Birch Tree Hill area of West Bay. It was reported that several shots were fired at an address in the area and one man received a gunshot wound to the leg and a dog was killed.

Police Recover Over 300lbs of Ganja During Operation, Four Persons Charged, 12 August

12th August, 2022

On Tuesday, 9 August, officers conducted a proactive operation in Bodden Town under the Misuse of Drugs Act. During the operation, three separate premises were searched and over 300lbs of suspected ganja, along with drug utensils and a large quantity of cash, were recovered. Four persons have been charged as a result.

Police arrested four men, including three men on island illegally. The three men, ages 27, 29, and 29, are Jamaican nationals. The fourth man, age 34, is a work permit holder, and also a Jamaican national.

Police Investigate Armed Robbery in George Town, 6 August

Shortly after 1:50AM today, 6 August, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at a liquor store on Maclendon Drive, George Town. It was reported that a man entered the location, brandished a firearm and demanded cash from the staff there. The male then fled the location on foot with a quantity of cash.

Man Arrested and Charged for Possession of Ammunition, 3 August

3rd August, 2022

On Saturday, 30 July, officers responded to a report of shots fired in an area of Frank Sound, North Side. A man was found in possession of shotgun rounds and subsequently arrested. He has since been formally charged with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm (Ammunition).

During an operation today, Friday 8 July, shortly before 12.30PM, police arrested Rudolph Almando Shaw, a 30 year old man who is wanted for murder in Jamaica, in the vicinity of Seymour Road, George Town. The authorities in Jamaica have been notified.
