On Monday 6 November, around 1:15AM, a Firearms Response Unit vehicle, whilst on patrol in West Bay in relation to the multiple firearm-related incidents over the weekend, was involved in an MVA where the police vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle.
Year to date, RCIPS have issued just over 4,000 speeding tickets. This is an increase of just over 30% on the total number of speeding tickets issued for 2022, which was 3,063.
Shortly after 9:30PM on Thursday, 26 October, officers responded to a report of a collision on West Bay Road, just south of Lawrence Boulevard, involving two pedestrians and a Honda Fit. A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after attending the West Bay Police Station following the incident.
Shortly after 5:00AM this morning, Saturday 7 October, police and other emergency services responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Shamrock Road, in the vicinity of Matilda Drive.
Shortly after 1:15 AM today, 7 September, officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on Frank Sound Road involving a white Kia Optima. Three occupants of the vehicle, a man, a woman and an infant, were transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital to be treated for their injuries.
Police can now confirm the identity of the deceased in the fatal collision which took place on Wednesday night, 23 August. He is 39-year-old Randre David Lescombe, a Jamaican national residing in the Cayman Islands.
On Tuesday 22nd August, around 6.20PM, RCIPS attended the scene of a motor vehicle collision involving a Dodge Ram truck and a cyclist on Esterly Tibbetts Highway at the junction with Snug Harbour Drive.
The RCIPS is advising the public of the following road closure taking place to facilitate the LIVE Street Food Festival this Saturday, 19 August. Albert Panton Street and the eastern portion of Cardinall Avenue will be closed from 8:00PM on Friday, 18 August, through 12:00PM on Sunday, 20 August.
