At around 11:20AM on Tuesday, 20 July, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched police and other emergency services to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Bodden Town Road. One person was subsequently pronounced dead.
Operation Quaker continued this past weekend, marking the fifth week of the targeted road safety and enforcement campaign, which began on 28 May in response to a noticeable increase in serious and fatal motor vehicle collisions on our roadways.
Operation Quaker continues to target drunk driving and speeding island wide. This weekend the focus was on Sunday brunch events and saw 54 speeding tickets issued and officers arresting 9 persons for driving under the influence.
The RCIPS is advising the public of the following road closures that will be taking place on Friday, 25 June, from 8:00AM to 1:00PM to facilitate a ceremony commemorating the renaming of Harbour Drive to Seafarers Way.
This weekend, as Operation Quaker continued, officers carried out high visibility patrols and several vehicle check points. Particular attention was focused on Sunday during daylight and late evening hours. The operation continues to target drunk driving and speeding island wide.

Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday will be celebrated on Monday, 14 June. The occasion will be marked by a ceremonial parade at 4:30PM outside the Governor’s Residence. The RCIPS is advising the public of the following road closures and traffic diversions in order to facilitate the Queen’s Birthday parade.
The RCIPS’ targeted road safety and enforcement campaign, Operation Quaker, continued this past weekend, with increased police presence and enforcement on Cayman's roads.
On Friday 28 May, the RCIPS launched Operation Quaker in response to a trend of road fatalities and other serious collisions which have occurred in recent times.
