Shortly after 5:10PM yesterday, 24 October, officers responded to a report of a robbery at a barber shop in the vicinity of Mount Pleasant Road and Batabano Road in West Bay. It was reported that a masked man entered the shop brandishing machete, and took a bag containing personal items and cash from a person at the location.
Shortly after 6:15 AM today, 24 October, officers responded to a report of a robbery in the vicinity of Smith’s Barcadere in George Town. It was reported that a man was at the location, when he was approached by another man unknown to him, who brandished a knife, demanded his property, and made threats.
Police are appealing to members of the public who may had a number of SERCOM internet modems stolen to make contact in order to identify the items.
Police investigate an incident of attempted burglary in the Savannah area of Bodden Town, where an ATM facility was damaged by no entry was gained.
Earlier this afternoon, 25 September, an RCIPS school resource officer at the Clifton Hunter High School was alerted to a report that an illegal weapon had allegedly been seen in the possession of a student there.
Just before 4:30PM on Friday, 19 September, police responded to a report of an armed robbery which had taken place at a location on Barcadere Drive, George Town. The men took a large quantity of cash, recently collected for staff payments, from the vehicle, as well as a handbag containing personal effects.
The man, age 35 residing in East End, who was arrested on Sunday, 21 September, following a coordinated police operation, has now been formally charged.
This week, officers responded to two incidents where vehicles appear to have been deliberately set on fire. A stolen Honda CR-V was set on fire in George Town, while two jet skis were set on fire at an address in West Bay. Both incidents are under police investigation.
