The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) is now accepting applications for persons interested in becoming police constables and auxiliary constables in the Cayman Islands.
Shortly after 2:30PM on Monday, 21 October, officers responded to a report of a theft that had taken place at a jewelry store on Edward Street where two unarmed men had attempted to make off with several items of jewelry. Two men, ages 24 and 29 of West Bay have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police are currently investigating two stabbing incidents which occurred early on the morning of Saturday, 26 October. Arrests have been made in one of the incidents.
A man, age 40 of North Side, has been formally charged with Aggravated Burglary in relation to an incident on the morning of Saturday, 19 October, at an address in North Side, where the man broke into the residence of someone known to him while carrying a weapon. He appears in court today, 22 October.
Shortly after 4:30PM on 7 October, officers responded to a report of a man found unresponsive on Beckz Close in George Town. Emergency Services attended the location and the man was pronounced dead on the scene. Formal identification of the deceased man has not yet been established. The matter is currently under investigation.
Yesterday, Wednesday, 2 October, officers responded to a report of a robbery at the RUBIS service station on Walkers Road, where two masked males entered the establishment, brandishing machetes, and demanded cash from a staff member there. The men made off with a quantity of cash and other items, no one was injured.
Shortly before 11:00PM on Tuesday, 1 October, officers responded to a report that a woman was assaulted by a man known to her and received knife wounds to the head. The incident took place at a parking lot of a business on Shedden Road, and is under police investigation.
