A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a prohibited weapon and common assault following an incident on Seven Mile Public Beach where he is reported to have used pepper spray on a member of the public. The man was further arrested and charged with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm (Ammunition) following a search.
Police are investigating a number of incidents of thefts from vehicles, where construction tools have become a common item targeted.

A man has been formally charged with Criminal Trespass and three counts of Intentional Harassment, Alarm or Distress following an incident at a condominium on West Bay Road. The man, who was on court bail with electronic monitoring at the time of the incident, has also been charged with Damaging an Electronic Monitoring Device.
A man was arrested on Wednesday, 8 February, after driving a stolen vehicle in a reckless manner and attempting to evade police.
On Monday, 6 February, officers responded to a report that a number of rounds of ammunition had been found by a cleaning company, during the clearing of a cesspool at an address in the Red Bay area. Officers attended and oversaw the full clearing of the cesspool, and a total of nearly 500 rounds of ammunition was recovered.
At about 12:00PM yesterday, 4 February, officers responded to a report that a man had been found unresponsive in a boat in the waters near the Kimpton resort in West Bay. The man was brought back to shore by a private vessel and later pronounced dead.
