Investigation Into Social Media Video Closed, 20 January

20th January, 2021

On January 15, 2021, the RCIPS received an allegation of misuse of ICT in relation to a suggestive video which had been posted on social media. Officers investigated the matter and spoke to the suspect, who was warned about his conduct, in accordance with the wishes of the complainant. The matter is now closed.

Wounding in West Bay, 16 December

16th December, 2020

Shortly before 7:00PM on Tuesday, 15 December, officers responded to a report of a wounding at an address on North West Point Road in West Bay. Officers arrested a man, age 36 of West Bay, on suspicion of Wounding in relation to the incident. He remains in custody as investigations continue.

UPDATE: Man Charged in Relation to Firearms Incident, 10 December

Just after 12AM today, Sunday 6 December, police were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a report of shots being fired in the vicinity of a bar located along Seymour's Rd, George Town. A man has since been formally charged in connection with the incident.

Update on Search and Recovery for Missing Person at Sea off East End Coast, 2 December

RCIPS and CICG continue with both sea and shoreline searches, in efforts to locate a male who jumped overboard from a vessel in the waters off the coast of East End. Three men have been charged with drug importation offenses in relation to the same incident.

Packages of Substance Believed to be Cocaine Washed-Up in Little Cayman, 2 December

2nd December, 2020

On 9 November, officers recovered twenty-five (25) packages that were believed to have washed ashore in the Guy Banks Road area of Little Cayman.  The packages that were recovered from the location were subsequently inspected and were found to have contained white powdery substances resembling cocaine.
