The Opening Ceremony, which was postponed due to weather conditions, took place Wednesday afternoon, 6 November, and was followed by a series of international and local learning seminars throughout the day.
Shortly after midday today, Friday 1 November, police located and arrested wanted man, 39-year-old Mark Anthony Seymour, in the vicinity of Grand Harbour.
Now that family has been notified, police can confirm the identity of the man who was fatally wounded in the shooting incident that occurred on Sunday 27 October in George Town.
The RCIPS Cyber Crime Unit have received reports of a scam currently circulating in our communities, whereby a number of individuals have received an email threatening disclosure of personal information in exchange for money paid to the scammer.
Investigations have revealed that the drug consumed comes in the form of a candy, commonly known as “gummies”, which contain THC (illegal in Cayman), the psychoactive compound found in marijuana, which when consumed causes significant changes in mood and behavior and can cause strong sedation.
Police investigate medical issues involving juveniles, that are believed to be as a result of drug use. Members of the public with information are encouraged to call the Bodden Town Police CID.
Shortly before 5:00AM today, 2 October, officers responded to a report of a robbery at a store at the intersection of West Church Street and Town Hall Road, West Bay. It was reported that two masked men entered the store, one carrying a machete, and demanded cash from the worker there.
Shortly before 7:45PM on Sunday, 29 September, officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery outside an address off Hirst Road in Bodden Town. It was reported that a woman had arrived at the location and exited her vehicle when she was approached by a masked man who demanded money from her.
Just before 4:00AM, this morning, Saturday 28 September, police received a report of an armed robbery at a commercial premises on Mount Pleasant Road, West Bay.
Shortly before 2:50AM today, 21 September, officers responded to a report of an altercation in the parking lot of the Strand Entertainment Complex on West Bay Road. It was reported that one man had been armed with a knife and another man had brandished a firearm and fired shots into the air.
