Police Advise on Increase in Reports of Stolen Vehicles, 22 June

The RCIPS has noted an increase in the number of stolen vehicle reports since the beginning of June 2026 with 8 reports received over the course of the week ending 19 June. The majority of the incidents have occurred in George Town and Bodden Town, with West Bay affected as well.

The man, age 34, residing in Bodden Town, who was arrested in relation to the fatal collision on 21 April, 2025, on Bodden Town Road, has been formally charged with Causing Death by Dangerous Driving, Driving a Vehicle While under the Influence of Alcohol thereby Causing Death, and Dangerous Driving.

The Police Respond to Armed Robbery in Newlands, 3 February

3rd February, 2026

Around 8:00pm, Monday, 2 February, police responded to report of a robbery at a convenience store on Hirst Road. It was reported that two men entered the store and one of the men brandished a knife. The men stole a quantity of cash and fled on foot toward the rear of the building.
