Shortly before 2:00AM today, 4 October, officers responded to a serious single-vehicle collision on Shamrock Road, in the vicinity of Impulse Close, involving a red Honda Integra. The lone occupant was extracted from the vehicle and transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
This evening, 30 September, the NRA was able to conduct repairs on the control unit for the traffic lights at the Bobby Thompson Way and Smith Road junction. As such, the lights are now currently operational, however, it is possible that the repair will only function temporarily.
Due to wave activity and debris on the roadway, Seafarers Way, between Goring Avenue and Elmslie Memorial Church has been closed, with vehicles being diverted through Goring Avenue at this time. The roadway is also closed between Mary Street and Lobster Pot on North Church Street.
A contingent of six RCIPS officers have travelled to London for the funeral of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, today, 19 September.
Following the passing of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the RCIPS is advising the public of the following road closures and traffic diversions in order to facilitate the Proclamation of the New Sovereign on Sunday, 11 September, outside the Governor’s Residence, West Bay.
Police can now confirm the identity of the deceased in the fatal vehicle collision which occurred on Sunday, 28 August at the Parkers Raceway in Bodden Town. He is 29-year-old Kashwayne Rohan Andre Mckenzie, of Bodden Town.
The RCIPS continues to remind drivers of the importance of engaging in safe driving practices and avoiding behaviours such as driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a report of a two-vehicle collision that took place along the Esterley Tibbetts Highway, West Bay.
The northbound lane of West Bay Road, between the Seven Mile Public Beach roundabout and Lime Tree Bay Avenue, which was partially closed to facilitate construction work beginning on 19 March, will fully reopen to vehicular traffic beginning on Friday, 19 August.
