For a better experience on RCIPS, UPDATE YOUR BROWSER. Shortly before 2:20PM yesterday, 17 November, officers responded to a report of an incident at the UCCI campus on Olympic Way. It was reported that an altercation had taken place involving multiple persons, at least two of whom had brandished bladed weapons. No one was injured during the incident.
Police and other emergency services have been dispatched to a structural fire on Hirst Road, near the junction of Rex Crighton Boulevard. As a result of the fire on Hirst Road, the roadway has been closed to the public while the CIFS works to extinguish the fire.
Police have received a report of a stolen white 2000 Honda Civic, registration #168 371 which was last seen at about 10:30PM on Thursday, 22 October, and discovered missing at about 6:20AM this morning, 23 October. The vehicle had been parked at an address off Shamrock Road, Bodden Town.
A man was arrested on Tuesday, 1 September, following a search of an address off Bight Road, where several containers of suspected ganja were recovered.
The RCIPS is increasingly concerned with the number of violent crimes involving bladed weapons that have occurred over the past month on Grand Cayman. We want to caution the public that it is illegal for any person to carry concealed weapons including knives, which is a serious criminal offense.
Concerns from the community regarding drug activity and other anti-social behaviour has lead the RCIPS to organize a joint operation in the Kaibo and Rum Point area of North Side, which took place yesterday, Sunday 30 August.
The RCIPS and the Department of Agriculture Animal Control & Welfare Unit continue to promote responsible dog ownership initiatives in an effort to reduce the number of reports received. This continued collaborative effort includes initiatives to remove stray or roaming dogs from the public.
A 27-year-old-man of George Town has been charged with Assault GBH following an incident that took place on Thursday 30 July, when officers on patrol heard a person in distress at a residence on Pedro Castle Road in Bodden Town and rendered assistance to the parties involved.
A man, age 53 of George Town, has been arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine with intent to supply and suspicion of consumption of a controlled drug, following an operation at an address on Rock Hole Road, where officers recovered cocaine and cash. He has been granted bail as investigations continue.
Acting Superintendent Brad Ebanks, who is currently in charge of Special Operations, has now been appointed to oversee the entire RCIPS Uniform Operations, following the departure of Superintendent Robert Graham.
