RCIPS Stress Patience on the Roads in Lead up to Christmas, 22 December

This weekend, 18-19 December, was the third of the RCIPS Holiday Safety campaign, Winter Guardian, and the busiest yet for officers enforcing the road safety component of the campaign. 57 prosecutions were made, 28 speeding tickets issued, 27 for tint, and 2 DUI’s.

Collision Involving a Heavy Equipment Vehicle at Grand Harbour Roundabout, 17 December

17th December, 2021

Police are currently on scene at the Grand Harbour roundabout in George Town where it was reported that a heavy equipment vehicle that was being towed, heading in the direction of Bodden Town, fell off its towing vehicle and overturned off the roadway. No one was injured during the incident.

UPDATE: Police Investigate Fatal Collision on Shamrock Road, 6 December

6th December, 2021

Shortly before 10:00PM yesterday, Sunday, 5 December, police, fire officers, and EMS responded to a report of a serious two-vehicle collision on Shamrock Road in the vicinity of the Red Bay Primary School, involving a silver Honda Inspire and a black Honda StepWGN. One person was pronounced dead as a result of the collision.

Traffic Officers are currently on scene of a single vehicle collision that took place on Old Crewe Road. The vehicle involved collided with light pole causing it to fall into the roadway. Old Crewe Road between Sunrise Boulevard and South Sound Road is currently closed.
