The RCIPS is informing the public of the following traffic advisories and road closures taking place this weekend, 6 to 7 May, in order to facilitate events for Cayman Carnival Batabano. The police will also have increased presence at events and at targeted road locations over the course of the weekend.
The RCIPS have seen a recent increase in the number of Honda vehicles stolen on Grand Cayman, specifically; CRV, Civic and Accord models. The majority of these stolen vehicles are registered pre 2002.
The RCIPS is advising the public that there will be a series of temporary short-term road closures affecting portions of Conch Point Road, Powery Road, and Andreson Road in West Bay, between 1:00PM tomorrow, 21 April, and 2:00AM on Friday, 22 April.
Over this past weekend, 15 – 18 April, the RCIPS conducted its yearly Easter operations across the island, beginning with issuing tips to the public on how to stay safe, increasing police presence on the roadways, as well as visiting various camp sites and residential areas.
To facilitate the continued installation of underground Electrical ducts in the area between Claude Hill Road and the CNB Roundabout, a section of Elgin Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from 6:30AM Friday, 15 April, until 8:00PM Sunday, 18 April.

The RCIPS is advising the public of the following road closures and diversions taking place to facilitate the Lying in State and Funeral Service for the late Benson O. Ebanks, taking place Thursday, 7 April, and Friday, 8 April, respectively.
The new RCIPS Eastern Districts Road Policing Unit commenced duty on Monday 28 March, and spent their first week focusing on traffic movement through the districts' school zones. This included static officers monitoring the zones and issuing warnings and tickets where appropriate.
Just after 7PM today, 3 April, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a report of a single vehicle collision that occurred on West Church Street, West Bay, near the junction of Henning Lane.
