Yesterday, 21 September, officers responded to a report that a man had attempted to use a counterfeit CI $100 note at a business in Cayman Brac on two separate occasions. The officers conducted enquiries and later located the man and arrested him on suspicion of uttering a forged note.
A contingent of six RCIPS officers have travelled to London for the funeral of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, today, 19 September.
Police are investigating a serious assault that took place between the hours of 2:00AM and 2:30AM on Tuesday, 14 September, on Sound Way, George Town. One man was struck in the face with an object and seriously injured with potentially life-changing injuries
Between 9:00PM and 9:40PM last night, 10 September, officers responded to a report of an assault outside an address in the Prospect area. A lone woman had just parked outside the address when her vehicle was approached by an unknown man who opened her car door and attempted to rob her.
Three men appeared before the court this week, after being arrested over this past weekend, in relation to burglary incidents that took place this month, August, 2022.
On the afternoon of Tuesday, 16 August, officers conducted a search of an address in the North Sound Estates area of Bodden Town and recovered several packages of suspected cocaine, along with suspected ganja, drug paraphernalia, and a quantity of cash. Two men were arrested, one has since been charged.
On Friday, 12 August, officers received a report of a serious assault that had occurred on Thursday, 11 August. It was reported that a man was at an address on Shedden Road, near Eastern Avenue, when he was approached by another man known to him who struck him with a machete, causing injuries to his arm.
The RCIPS’ investigation continues into an armed robbery which occurred on Saturday, 6 August, on Maclendon Drive, George Town. Police are requesting public assistance in identifying a man who was captured on CCTV footage taken during the incident.
Officers have recovered a Remington shotgun and three cartridge cases which have since been confirmed as stolen during a burglary in North Side last month. No arrests have been made, however enquiries continue to identify the person(s) involved.
On Thursday 4 August, the RCIPS received a report of a large blue bag found in the bushes, in the vicinity of a new development on Farm Road, East End.
