Shortly after 11:00PM yesterday, 19 October, officers were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a robbery at a grocery store on Party Lane in the Prospect Area. It was reported that four masked men entered the store and brandished firearms at the workers there, demanding cash.
On Tuesday, 18 October, while on patrol off of East End, Cayman Islands Coast Guard officers observed a suspicious vessel entering the channel in East End. When the Coast Guard vessel attempted to stop the suspicious vessel, the vessel attempted to evade the CG vessel resulting in a short chase.
A woman, age 39 of George Town, has been formally charged with two counts of Obstructing the Course of Justice and one count of Conspiracy to Obstruct the Course of Justice, for the incidents, which took place on 8 and 9 October. A man, age 57 of Bodden Town, has also been arrested in relation to the same incident.
On Friday, 14 October, a man age 45 of George Town was formally charged with one count of Doing an Act to Obstruct, Prevent, Pervert, or Defeat Justice, and one count of Breach of Trust by a Public Officer, in relation to an incident on 17 November, 2019, at the Cayman Islands Police Detention Centre.
Police continue to appeal for persons who may have witnessed the shooting incident which occurred just after 4:00AM on Saturday, 24 September, on West Bay Road just south of Lime Tree Bay Avenue, where it was reported that shots were fired from vehicles, and a man was injured.
A man, age 41 of Bodden Town, has been formally charged with Burglary, in relation to an incident reported on 28 September where a residence on Bodden Town Road was broken into, and power tools were taken. Police responded and conducted enquiries which led to the man being arrested later that day.
Police have arrested and charged three men in relation to an armed robbery which occurred at a service station on Dorcy Drive on Tuesday, 29 March.
At about 7:45PM yesterday, 28 September, officers were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery which had taken place outside a restaurant on North Church Street.
Between last night, Friday 23 September and early this morning Saturday 24 September, police were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to three firearm related incidents across Grand Cayman.
