This week, officers responded to two incidents where vehicles appear to have been deliberately set on fire. A stolen Honda CR-V was set on fire in George Town, while two jet skis were set on fire at an address in West Bay. Both incidents are under police investigation.
Tashaena Williams, age 15, who was reported missing on Monday, 15 September, has been located.
A woman was arrested for drug offenses and DUI following a search, after being stopped while driving on the wrong side of the road.
On Thursday night, 28 August, officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at a residential complex in the Grand Harbour area of George Town. It was reported that a male was tampering with bicycles at the location.
At about 5:30PM on Friday, 22 August, officers on patrol in the Industrial Park area of George Town, observed a vehicle which had been reported stolen travelling on Seymour Drive. The officers signaled the vehicle to stop and arrested the occupants, two men ages 22 and 24, residing in George Town.
Shortly after 11:10AM on Monday, 11 August, the Cayman Islands Coast Guard (CICG) responded to a distress call from a vessel at Coral Gardens, in the North Sound, which reported that one of the vessel’s passengers had encountered difficulties while snorkeling.
Police can now confirm the identity of the victim in the water-related death which occurred this past Friday, 8 August. He is 71-year-old Michael John Gallagher, a visitor from the United States. The RCIPS reiterates condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
Shortly before 12:00PM yesterday, 18 June, officers responded to a report that a man, who was wanted in relation to an incident which had occurred the previous day, had been located on Dorcy Drive. The man was driving a vehicle and refused to stop, but was followed and apprehended by police
