At approximately 10:24AM on Tuesday, 8 January, police and emergency services, including the Cayman Islands Fire Service, Emergency Medical Services and an explosives expert were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to investigate a report of a bomb threat at Grand Harbour Plaza.

RCIPS’ annual holiday safety operation, Winter Guardian, commences today, Monday, 16 December, and will see intensified road enforcement operations, increased community foot patrols and high visibility mobile patrols across the Islands.
30-year-old-man who was arrested in relation to recovered firearm was formally charged by the police and will appear before the court on Monday 16 December.
In response to community concerns reported to the police about illegal activity and allegations of immigration offences, RCIPS and CBC officers conducted a joint operation early on the morning of Thursday, 5 December, just off the Cypros Road area of George Town. One man was arrested by CBC for overstaying.
At about 3:45AM on Thursday, 21 November, officers stopped and searched a vehicle travelling along Grescott Lane. A quantity of cash and drugs were found and the occupants arrested. One of the occupants has since been formally charged in relation to an burglary which took place on 14 November.
At about 11:40AM today, 10 November, officers responded to a report of a person in distress on the shore off West Bay Road, south of Canal Point Drive. A man had experienced difficulties while snorkeling. He was subsequently pronounced dead after being transported to hospital.
At about 3:45PM yesterday, 8 November, officers responded to a report of a robbery which had taken place on Jasmine Lane in George Town.
Police Week 2024 continues following the passing of Hurricane Rafael. The Opening Ceremony, which was postponed due to weather conditions, took place Wednesday afternoon, 6 November, and was followed by a series of international and local learning seminars throughout the day.
