Just after 3:30PM on Wednesday, 29 April, officers from the Community Policing Department, along with Special Constables, were on patrol in the central George Town area when officers approached a man sitting outside a residence. When officers approached the man he ran from the officers, which aroused their suspicion.
Just before 5PM on Sunday 26 April, officers were on patrol in the area of Sound Way, George Town, when they observed a male and female apparently in breach of the hard curfew. The officers stopped and spoke with them, and whilst doing so, smelt a strong sent of ganja.
Just after 2AM on Thursday, 23 April, officers were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at an address in George Town, between a man and a woman who are known to each other.
A man, age 21 of George Town, was arrested and has subsequently been charged with several offenses following an incident on 16 April when he was observed recklessly riding an illegal motorbike and subsequently resisted arrest and assaulted officers. He appeared in court and was remanded into custody until 30 April.
A 43-year-old-man from West Bay was charged with six(6) offense following an incident that took place in the West Bay district on Friday, 17 April.
Just before 3:25AM on Friday, 17 April, police stopped a man traveling on a bicycle along Oakdale Close in George Town, during the hard curfew. While the officers were speaking with the man, he ran away from them and a foot chase ensued.
Today, 18 April, police conducted an operation in the area of Fairlawn Road, George Town in response to concerns about a public gathering taking place in contravention of the soft curfew order under the new Public Health Regulation. A gathering of several people engaging in cockfighting were seen at the location.
Extensions to hard and soft curfews were announced at the COVID-19 press conference on Thursday, 16 April 2020.
Just before 8AM on Friday 10 April, officers were on patrol when they stopped a silver Honda Accord at the junction of West Church Street and Town Hall Road in West Bay. The vehicle was not bearing any license plates at the time. Officers spoke with the driver of the vehicle who was not able to provide valid identification.
