Around 12:30AM, Sunday 25 August, police and other emergency services responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on Esterly Tibbets Highway, in the vicinity of the Kimpton, West Bay.
Just before 12:14PM, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a single vehicle collision along South Sound Road in the vicinity of the Red Bay Dock. The single occupant of the vehicle was transported to hospital by ambulance.
RCIPS reminds the public that the National Gun Amnesty has been extended for a further 10 days and have provided an update on hand ins so far. The public encouraged to hand in illegal guns before the deadline.
As the RCIPS continues in its efforts to encourage persons to relinquish their unlicensed firearms, two more firearms were handed in this past weekend. A pistol and a rifle along with an amount of ammunition were handed into police via a trusted third party, as part of the 2024 RCIPS Gun Amnesty campaign.
The RCIPS is aware of a video circulating on social media which shows a collision on Shamrock Road, involving a red car and a white van. While no one was injured in the collision, this is one of those cases which highlights the importance of defensive driving, as the outcome could have been much different otherwise.
The female juvenile who was the pedestrian involved in the collision was treated and released for non-life-threatening injuries. The investigations continue.
Police investigate fatal collision that took place just after 2:30AM on 6 July on Shamrock Road in Bodden Town vicinity of Pasture Drive.
Police are informing persons who parked their vehicles on roadways to immediately remove them.
