Just after 3:15PM yesterday, 18 January, a number of RCIPS Units attended a residence on Duxies Lane in West Bay to execute a search warrant. The officers were accompanied by officers from the Animal Welfare Unit of the DOA.
At about 11:00AM on Tuesday, 4 January, RCIPS officers conducting checks in the Barkers area of West Bay discovered a container with multiple cartridges of what appears to be shotgun ammunition.
Yesterday, Thursday 9 December, Freddy Manuel Diaz of West Bay was convicted of Possession of Indecent Images of Children and Accessing Child Pornography. Diaz will be sentenced on 18 February 2022.
On Friday morning, 3 December, RCIPS officers in West Bay conducted searches at two addresses in the vicinity of West Church Street, under the Misuse of Drugs Act. As a result, four persons were arrested on suspicion of drug and illegal gambling offenses, while a fifth person was arrested in relation to a prior incident.
RCIPS’ holiday safety operation, Winter Guardian, commences today, 1 December, and will see increased community foot patrols and intensified road enforcement operations, supported by road safety education and awareness campaigns. The operation continues throughout the holiday season and into the New Year.
On Wednesday 17 November, the 26-year-old-man of West Bay, who was previously arrested on suspicion of attempted murder (see details below), has now been further arrested by the police on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
The RCIPS is informing the public that the West Bay Police Station has now returned to 242 West Church Street.
RCIPS Firearms Response Unit responded to a 911-Emegrency dispatch to a report of shots being fired in the area of Finch Drive, West Bay. Shortly thereafter, two subsequent reports of shots fired at two separate locations in George Town were received and responded to by the police.
On Sunday, 3 October, 2021 the RCIPS participated in the funeral service of the late Rev. Dr. Linda Darnell McField, who passed away on Monday, 20 September, 2021.
