Shortly after 4:15PM yesterday, 18 January, officers responded to a report of a four-vehicle collision which occurred on Sea View Road in East End. Two occupants of one of the vehicles involved were transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment and have since been discharged.
In order to facilitate the National Heroes Day Celebrations which are taking place on Monday, 23 January, the following road closures will be in place from Friday, 20 January at 9:00PM to Monday, 23 January, at 3:00PM. The roads will be temporarily reopened from 12:00AM to 12:00PM on Saturday, 21 January.
During the month of December, 2022, the RCIPS conducted operation Winter Guardian to provide support for the social and economic changes that come with the holiday period annually.
As New Year’s Eve approaches, the RCIPS would like to remind the public that Operation Winter Guardian continues and the public can expect to see amplified police presence over the holiday weekend. Officers will be carrying out high visibility patrols at events and areas with large gatherings.
Police are investigating a fatal collision was reported at about 1:30AM on Saturday, 10 December, involving a single-vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead, while the passenger is in critical condition.
The RCIPS is advising the public that Albert Panton Street, George Town, will be closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday, 10 December, in order to facilitate the Small Business Holiday Market hosted by the Cayman Islands Centre for Business Development. The closure will be in place from 7:00AM to 12:00AM.
RCIPS’ holiday safety operation, Winter Guardian, commenced on Thursday, 1 December, and sees increased community foot patrols, high visibility mobile patrols and intensified road enforcement operations, supported by road safety education and awareness campaigns.
The RCIPS is informing the public of the following road closures and traffic diversions taking place in order to facilitate the Cayman Islands Air Show Flying Display and Aircraft Exhibit, on Saturday, 3 December.
The public is advised that Seafarers Way has now been fully reopened to traffic.
