Shortly before 10:20 this morning, police and emergency services responded to a report of a person in distress. A woman had been snorkeling in the waters off West Bay Road in the vicinity of Royal Palms, when she encountered difficulties. She was subsequently transported to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Just before 3:45AM this morning, officers, while on patrol in the vicinity of Harbour Drive, George Town observed 3 males walking in the direction of South Church Street. The officers had cause to stop and speak with the 3 men and, after a short conversation, suspected that the men were under the influence of a controlled drug.
Our officers have noticed that there have been a large number of children travelling in vehicles, who have not been wearing their seatbelts. Not only is this a violation of the Traffic Laws and Regulations, but it is a danger to your child life in the event that your vehicle is involved in a collision.
At about 1:50AM on Saturday morning, 24 August, police were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Center, in response to a report of a large group of persons fighting at Caribbean Plaza on West Bay Rd.
