On Saturday morning, 10 January, just after 8:50AM, the Cayman Islands Coast Guard duty team responded to a report of a person in distress in the waters off the West Bay Dock.
A man, age 21 residing in Bodden Town, has been arrested and formally charged with two counts of Attempted Murder, along with Possession of a Firearm with Intent to Endanger Life and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, in relation to an incident which took place on Saturday, 22 February 2025, in West Bay.

The man, age 46, residing in West Bay, who was arrested in relation to a serious assault in West Bay, on Saturday, 15 November, has been formally charged with Attempted Murder, Causing Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent, Possession of an Offensive Weapon, and Damage to Property.
Early Saturday morning, 11 October, officers responded to a report of a disturbance at an address on Watercourse Road in West Bay. Following enquiries, that same afternoon, a man and woman age 54 and 45 respectively, who had both been involved in the altercation, were arrested at the location by officers.
This week, officers responded to two incidents where vehicles appear to have been deliberately set on fire. A stolen Honda CR-V was set on fire in George Town, while two jet skis were set on fire at an address in West Bay. Both incidents are under police investigation.
Police respond to a report at a residence in West Bay where it was discovered that a dog had been shot and a vehicle was damaged. No other injuries were reported to the police.
