A man was sitting outside with some companions when he was approached by a man unknown to him, who brandished a knife, demanded money from the victim and made threats.
Police are seeking public assistance to locate Mr. Noel Paul Manning, age 53 of Bodden Town, who has been charged and is before the court in relation to serious offences. Mr. Manning was to return to court on Monday, 4 December, but has breached his bail conditions and removed his electronic monitoring device.
Shortly after 1:40AM today, 5 January, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched officers to a report of a burglary in progress at a restaurant and bar on the waterfront on North Church Street, George Town. Officers arrived at the location and arrested a suspect following a short foot pursuit.
Police continue to investigate a shooting which occurred outside of the Vine & Tap Bar, on Printers Way in George Town, on Saturday, 23 December 2023, where one man was shot multiple times. Police are aware that several persons were on the scene at the time of the incident, and are strongly appealing for them to come forward.
Police continue to investigate an incident that was reported on 17 December, regarding an altercation that happened at Seven Mile Public Beach which resulted in a man ending up in hospital for treatment for serious lacerations to his head and hand, requiring surgery.
Shortly after 2:30PM yesterday, 2 January, officers responded to a report that a man had taken a tip jar from a restaurant on Boggy Sand Road and walked off, in the company of a woman. A worker at the restaurant followed the man and confronted him. The man brandished a machete and made off on foot.
Over the holiday weekend, between Friday 22 December and Tuesday 26 December, police received nine reports of commercial burglaries, all of which occurred at restaurants/bars. Two culprits, a 30-year-old man of George Town and a 41-year-old woman of West Bay, have been arrested in relation to four of the nine burglaries
Wanted man Antascio Rankin was arrested for burglary offences after turning himself in to the Cayman Islands Detention Centre this afternoon, 28 December. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
Shortly after midnight, on Tuesday 26 December, police received a report of a robbery that took place in the parking lot of a commercial premises on Eastern Avenue, shortly before midnight, on Monday 25 December.
Shortly after 11:40PM yesterday, 23 December, officers received a report of an altercation which had occurred at an event at the Safehaven Dock. It was reported that a man was struck with a bottle during the incident.
