At about 12:10AM today, 20 December, officers from the Firearms Response Unit were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report that shots had been fired in the vicinity of Grescott Lane in George Town. Shortly afterwards a report was received that a man had attended the Cayman Islands Hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police can now confirm that the man whose remains were recovered in the mangrove area of East End on Thursday, 30 November, has been identified. He is Adrian Williamson, a Jamaican national residing in Cayman, who was reported missing on 6 July, 2022, and was 26-years-old at the time of the report.
This afternoon, 8 December, officers responded to a report that shots had been fired at an address off Anthony Drive, George Town, early this morning. Police attended the scene and conducted checks and have recovered several spent shell casings. An investigation into the matter has been opened.
At about 4:30PM yesterday, 6 December, officers responded to a report of a sudden death at an address in East End. It was reported that a man had been conducting work on a vehicle at the location when he became trapped under the vehicle.
Just after 9:30PM on Sunday, 26 November, officers from the RCIPS Firearm Response Unit had cause to attend a location on Eastern Avenue, George Town where it was believed that illegal activities involving the use of an unlicensed firearm had taken place.
The man, age 54 of Bodden Town, who was arrested on Sunday 20 November 2022, has been formally charged with the murder of George Ian Duffell, which took place in West Bay on 14 October 2022.
Two men have been formally charged in relation to three separate burglary incidents in West Bay and George Town, on 24 and 25 November.
Police are requesting public assistance in locating Rolan Murphy Welcome, age 33 of East End.
The man, age 23 of George Town, who was arrested in relation to the robbery at a West Bay convenience store on Sunday, 19 November, has now been formally charged in relation to the incident.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the aggravated burglary which took place on Austin Conolly Drive on Saturday, 18 November.
